Albert Laprade (1883-1978) architect, engineer and town planner.

Albert Laprade was a French architect, engineer and town planner. He was especially active in building dams in Rhône. He was one of the architects entrusted with the reorganization of the Ilot 16, the section of Paris, where the first to remediation has passed after the Second World War.

Main realisatis
He worked in the construction of the dams in the Rhone between Geneva and the Mediterranean Sea, commissioned by the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône.

Johannes van der Laan was a Dutch architect and building engineer.

P.V.J. Klint (1853-1930) Architect and Building engineer

P.V.J. Klint was a Danish building engineer and architect. He was an outstanding mathematician and a nature lover. He was full of admiration for the geometric construction of natural things, such as one cochlea. He found an organic development of the architecture of the utmost importance. All of his buildings are derived from the old Danish architecture.

Main achievements
Grundtvig Memorial Church: This was also his last work. It has a threefold speed above the entrance, with outposts match located behind ships. It is formed with mathematical consequence. Both outside and inside you find the same yellow brick. What you would not expect is that the interior is not totally about mechanically, this by the variety of the incidence of daylight. In the tower is a spiral staircase in brick masonry, it is constructed as beautiful as the cochlea that he studied in his youth.

Hans Hofmann (1897-1957) building engineer

Hans Hofmann was a Swiss engineer. He had since 1925 an independent agency in Zurich, from 1928 he collaborated with Adolf Keller Muller. From 1941 he was a professor at the E.T.H. in Zurich. Hans Hofmann was honored with another doctoration from the University of Zurich.

Gijsbert Friedhoff (1892-1970) building engineer

Gijsbert Friedhoff was a Dutch engineer and since 1946 he was Chief Government. He built many houses and homes in Baarn and Haarlem.

Samuel Josua van Embden (1904-2000) Urban engineer, building engineer and architect

Samuel Josua van Embden was a Dutch urban engineer, building engineer and architect.
He realized many houses, homes, offices and industrial buildings throughout the Netherlands.
He was also a consultant in several urban municipalities in connection with, among others, the State Mines and the Zuiderzee Polder.

Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923) Architectural Engineer and Architect

Eiffel Tower of Paris
Gustave Eiffel was a French engineer and architect. He began working in 1856 for the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer de l'Ouest (French railways). Then he began to design bridges as his first bridge Passerelle Eiffel in Bordeaux. His specialty was iron structures. That way he designed the world famous Eiffel Tower and the famous Iron elevator in Lisbon. He was also one of the founders of the aerodynamic science. He built important bridges and viaducts in France and other countries. In bridges he applied the assembly of free expansion. He also designed pneumatic foundations. For the world exhibition in Paris in 1878 he built the 'Galerie des machines'. He designed the steel construction of the Statue of Liberty of the United States donated by France in June 1886. The Statue of Liberty is actually a replica of the original statue of liberty designed by Frédéric Barholdi in 1870, it is located in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. He was also responsible for designing the locks for the Panama Canal in 1893 and was involved in the Panama Affair, but he was acquitted. For the Great Exhibition of 1889 in Paris, he built the Eiffel Tower. This gave him an unconditional world reputation and became world famous. He founded in 1912 in Auteuil the first laboratory for aerodynamics, which served for the study of aviation, after the death of Gustave Eiffel it became property of the French state.

William Dunkel (1893-1980) building engineer

William Dunkel was a Swiss buildig engineer and professor at the E.T.H. in Zurich. He was also president of the International Commission for the training of architects.

Marius Duintjer (1908-1983) Building Engineer

Marius Duintjer was building engineer at the E.T.H. in Zurich. He worked in 1934 and 1935 with Le Corbusier in Paris. He built homes in Amsterdam and in Roosendaal.

Important works
Cruciform church of the Dutch Reformed Church in Amstelveen (1951). He offered several original solutions to the demands made by the Protestant church building organisation.

Jan Duiker (1889-1935) building engineer

Jan Duiker was a Dutch building engineer. He was also chairman of 'De 8', this was a group of architects who stood for the 'New Objectivity'. Together with a group of Rotterdam he launched the magazine 'The 8 and Structure'.

Joseph Theodorus Johannes Cuypers (1861-1949) Building Engineer

Joseph Cuypers was a Dutch building engineer and son of Petrus Josephus Hubertus Cuypers. In addition to his job as a construction engineer, he was also the first president of the original B.N.A. and builder of many Roman catholic churches. He is also known for his achievements of many villas and hospitals.

Hans Brechbühler (1907) Building Engineer

Hans Brechbühler is a Swiss building engineer. Besides the realization of many houses Hans worked for one year with Le Corbusier in Paris. With Proffessor Salvisberg he worked on a number of important buildings.

J.W.C. Boks (1904-1986) Building Engineer and Architect

Boxing was a civil engineer and architect. In addition to numerous houses he also realized great public buildings. There is even a book 'JWC Boks (1904-1986)' published about him, written by Hans W. Bakx.

Godefridus Maria Leeuwenberg (1899-1967) Architect and Building Engineering

Godefridus Mary Leo Berg was a Dutch architect and building engineer. He built some churches and monasteries.

John Fake Berghoef (1903-1994) building engineer

John Fake Berghoef is a Dutch engineer. Since 1947, he was also a professor at the Aalsmeer. He was particularly active in his hometown Aalsmeer. Along with JM Vegter he won the prize for the competition of the Amsterdam Town Hall in 1939.

Hans Bernoulli (1876) building engineer

Hans Bernoulli was a Swiss building engineer. From 1903 to 1912 he was professor at the Techn. Hocheschule in Berlin-Charlottenburg, then to the Eidg. Techn. Hochschule in Basel. He was also editor of 'Work'. Doctor H. C. at the University of Basel and is also known as an author on the architectural field. He was busy in the urban area and was a consultant for the reconstruction of Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna and several German cities.

Tjeenk Junior is a Dutch building engineer.

Johannes Andreas Brinkman (1902-1949) building engineer

John Brinkman was a Dutch engineer. Along with LC van der Vlugt, he built many homes in and around Rotterdam. Thus, the Van Nelle factory in Rotterdam is one of their showpieces. This building is an example of functional building with a concrete frame and a the mushroom-system for the columns and floors. There was also used a lot of glass. After passing over of Van der Vlugt, he teamed up with Van den Broek in the office 'Brinkman and Van den Broek. Many works in the field of residential and non-residential building where established under his cooperation.

Paul Henri Nicholas Briėt (1894-1978) building engineer

Paul Briėt was a building engineer from the Netherlands and son of the painter Arthur Briėt. In addition to numerous houses and villas he built schools and retirement homes.

Lifespan
He graduated as a civil engineer at the Technical University in Delft.
Then he went into the service of the Dutch Railways where he worked with architect CB Posthumus Meyes.
In 1927, Paul formed a partnership with Johan Hanrath.
After passing over of Johan Hanrath in 1932, Paul continued his profession as an engineer on his own.
